Lucky enough to have space for a dedicated cinema room. This room is at the very rear of our house and enables me to fully use the system day and night (time permitting) without disturbing the house or the neighbours.
It is very much a DIY effort, the design, installation, decoration and equipment selection is all my own.
We moved into the house just over 5 years ago (June 2004) and begun conversion of the room very quickly and have been tweaking the room and equipment ever since. I am very pleased with the performance on offer for the money I have spent.
The room also has to serve as my home office, a wallmounted fold-down work station is fixed to the far side wall, and at the rear (not pictured) is my computer work station.
The biggest down-side is that it has turned going to the real cinema into a bit of a disappointment, as I consider the picture and audio of my system to be better than our local VUE multi-screen cinema.
My children love-it, although ongoing work and family commitments means it doesn't get as much use as I would like, accasional weekends and evenings only at most.
Current home cinema consists of:
Sanyo Z2000 Full HD Projector, 92" screen, Onkyo 875 THX amplifier / receiver, Sony BDP-S350 Blu Ray Player, Xbox 360 (for games), Freesat HD,
B&W Speakers all round (7.1) and a BK Monolith Subwoofer - circa 2.5kW of audio
Playing Xbox 360 on this system is great fun:
Here is Project Gotham Racing 4:
